New Delhi, July 21: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will be on a two-day visit to India from next week. He will be the second Joe Biden administration official to visit New Delhi.
According to the private media house, he is likely to visit India from July 27 to 28, and preparations for the high-level visit are underway. Blinken would hold a bilateral discussion with India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar and may also call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It should be noted that Jaishankar and Blinken have met thrice in the past year, with the latest coinciding with the Indian foreign minister's visit to the United States in May.
The visit is expected to focus on the current situation in Afghanistan, Indo-Pacific, Quad. Biden administration is keen to host Quad (the grouping of India, US, Australia, and Japan) in-person leadership meet later this year. Indian PM Modi, depending on the current Covid situation will visit Washington.
