New Delhi, Aug 17: The chaotic scenes in Afghanistan have been disturbing and heartbreaking as well with the Taliban taking over the country. Amid the escalating tensions, Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram in a tweet suggested that the Taliban might have recruited some of its members from the Indian state of Kerala.
Tharoor quoting a video showing two "emotional" Talibanis converse in Malayalam (as claimed by him) said, "It sounds as if there are at least two Malayali Taliban here — one who says “samsarikkette” around the 8-second mark & another who understands him!"
The netizens have slammed him for boasting about unworthy achievement.
One user said, "Did he said he is proud that a Malayali is their. He just pointed out that Indians are also been a part of Taliban right now and may be many of them still working for them inside India. He pointed it out for own safety and precautions."
Several users in a sarcastic manner said that he is taking pride that Malayalis are part of the Taliban.
