Lucknow, Jan 20: Congress ally Maulana Tauqeer Raza, who has been making provocative statements against Hindus, has now threatened Aman Chopra, anchor of the News 18 channel on a live show. He lashed out at the anchor and said, "Badatameezi karoge to munh tod diya jaega" which in literal translation means "If you misbehave, your mouth will be broken."
Chopra had questioned Maulana Tauqeer Raza's old statements, Raza angrily asked the anchor to either talk to him in a polite manner or else his face would be broken. The video has now gone viral on the social media sites as it is rare to see that a politician is making such statements ahead of Assembly elections on a live show.
Tauqeer Raza Khan of 'Ala Hazrat Sharif' of Bareilly had announced to support the Congress party in the UP elections. He came into the limelight after spewing venom against Hindus. Netizens, finding this gesture very disturbing, has called out Congress for aligning with such a hate monger.
On the other hand, netizens has also came forward to show support towards journalist Aman Chopra. There are also questions being raised that there has been planned and systematic attack on the journalist by "some people".
Recently, he was seen sympathizing with terrorists killed in the Batla House encounter on 19 September 2008. He has clearly said that the Batla house terrorist needs to be given the status of martyr.
“Maine 2009 mein Congress ko bola tha 'abhi musalmaano ne aapko parole pe chhoda hai'. Unhone tab humse kaha ke 'agar hum sarkar mein ayenge, toh Batla House encounter ki jaanch karwayenge'. Agar unhone tab jaanch ki hoti toh sach saamne aata ke jo maarey gaye the woh aatankwaadi nahi thay. Unko shaheedon ka darja milna chahiye,” he was heard saying.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra came down heavily on Khan for his latest remark, and said that the Congress party had raked up the Batla House encounter issue even during the 2012 Uttar Pradesh elections. “Even during the 2012 Uttar Pradesh elections, the Congress’ agenda was ‘Batla House’... Their needle of appeasement is still stuck there,” Patra said.
Khan was earlier booked for reportedly issuing threats against the Hindu community and booked for making derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi
