New Delhi, Jan 31: Hundreds of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) activists and senior office-bearers have been engaged in visiting the Muslim dominated areas in poll-bound states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to convince the Muslim voters to cast their votes in favor of the BJP and ensure better future for them.

Besides, the MRM activists are also busy campaigning in the other three states of Punjab, Goa, and Manipur that will also have elections to elect new assemblies. However, the concentration is on UP and Uttarakhand as they are considered as the most important from the national political point of view. UP has 403 seats while Uttarakhand has 77. The BJP had ruled both the states for the full five-year term with a formidable majority of 312 in UP. In Uttarakhand, the party had to change the Chief Minister three times to ensure better performance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Dy. CM Keshav Prasad Mourya, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and many leaders are campaigning in this main state of the Hindi Heartland and claiming the victory for their party.

But most surprising is the role of MRM. The MRM is a non-political organization devoted to the social reforms within the Muslim society ensuring their all-round development, women empowerment, and trying to connect the Muslim community with the national mainstream of Bharat under the inspiring guidance of senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar and a team of National Conveners including Mohd. Afzal, Abu Bakar Naqvi, Dr. Shahid Akhtar, S K Muddin, Islam Abbas, Raza Rizvi, Irfan Ali, Reshma Hussain, Shalini Ali, and others.

In 2014, the MRM had conducted similar such meetings under its ‘Mission Modi 2014’ all over the country, especially in the northern states where it had maximum presence then. As the years passed, the MRM improved its organizational strength and expanded its activities in the southern states in a considerable manner enabling it to participate in the 2019 general elections in favor of the BJP.

Now, this time the MRM has put all its strength and resources behind the BJP in UP and Uttarakhand to ensure that the Muslims in these states vote for the BJP.

Thus, the MRM has launched a door-to-door campaign to ‘educate’ the Muslim voters and seek their support in favor of the BJP. This campaign is restricted to those assembly constituencies that have a Muslim majority vote or a high concentration of Muslim voters.

The MRM has also organized and lined up a series of meetings with Muslim religious leaders, scholars, and intellectuals in these constituencies. On Sunday a team of MRM activities under the leadership of National Convener Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar had visited Moradabad and other areas in UP. Another team is visiting the areas in Hardwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Dehradun districts of Uttarakhand.

Senior RSS leader and patron and guide of the MRM, Indresh Kumar, presided over a meeting with the minority community members in Sitarganj on Sunday.

“He was present at two such meetings in Kashipur and Khatima on Saturday and one meeting in Rudrapur the day before,” MRM media in-charge Shahid Sayeed said.

Indresh Kumar is likely to preside some more meetings of intellectuals and scholars from the Muslim community on Geb 4 at Roorkee, Piran Kaliyar, and Bhagwanpur of Uttarakhand, Syeed said.

The Muslim population in Uttarakhand is 14 percent and they hold a key to victory in at least 22 constituencies in the state. Of these 10 are in Hardwar, 9 in Udham Singh Nagar, and 3 in Dehradun districts, he added.

“These constituencies have a high concentration of Muslim voters. The political atmosphere in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand will have its impact in adjacent Rampur, Moradabad, Bijnor, and Bareli districts of Uttar Pradesh,” Sayeed said.

The MRM Mahila Prakoshth leaders Shalini Ali, Shahnaz Afzal, and others have actively engaged them in this door-to-door contact program to reach out to the Muslim women voters with a message –the Modi-Dhami government is better for the future of Muslim women and children.

The activists are distributing a ‘Nivedan Patra’ (Appeal) that has listed the measures taken by the Modi government at the Centre and the Dhami government in the state for the welfare and empowerment of Muslim women.

By enacting the law against triple talaq the Modi government has liberated nearly 8.5 crore, Muslim women, in India from the bondage of that draconian and inhuman practice. The MRM had raised this issue sinc3e its inception in 2002 and finally, the Modi government quashed this age-old inhuman practice. Increasing the age of the marriage of girls to 21 is yet another revolutionary step of the government to ensure proper development of Muslim women, the leaders of MRM Mahila Prakoshth said justifying their participation in the elections.
