In comparison, the SS Rajamouli global blockbuster RRR has a rating of 8.0 on 10 with 111k votes, Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 has a rating of 8.4 out of 10 with 127k votes, The Kashmir Files has a rating of 8.3 with 559k votes & Karthikeya 2 has a rating of 8.1 with 57k votes.

New Delhi, Oct 14:   Beating Yash's KGF 2 and the SS Rajamouli-directed RRR, Rishab Shetty's Kannada action drama movie, 'Kantara' has now become one of the highest-rated Indian films on IMDB.

As per the latest standing of IMDB, with 13,000 votes, Kantara has scored 9.6 out of 10.

Kantara is an action-thriller, written and directed by Rishab Shetty. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur.
 
Apart from IMDB, the film has also been receiving a tremendous response at the box office. In Karnataka, the film has crossed ₹70 crore gross and is inching closer to breach the ₹100 crore club globally by this weekend. It should be noted that, the Hindi dub version of Kantara will release in the North Indian region on October 14.
 
Kantara, which translates to mystical forest, tells the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe's people with a king in 1870 in exchange for happiness. Many years later, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the land back, he dies due to the wrath of Bhoota.
