New Delhi, October 03: Copying the style of the Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar, Rahul Gandhi also tried to impress the crowd by addressing the public amid heavy rainfall as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Sunday evening.

A video of him speaking amid rains has surfaced online. During his speech, he said that rain, heat, or storms can't stop the yatra. In the video, he can be seen drenched while speaking to the public.

He thanked his supporters for walking along with him in the rally and listening to him and supporting him despite the heavy downpour.

It should be reminded that during a bypoll campaign in 2019, Pawar delivered a speech amid heavy rainfall. He refused the umbrella he was offered saying, “Varun Raja (rain god in the Hindu mythology) has blessed the NCP. With his blessings, Satara district will now do magic in the upcoming polls.”

NCP has also drew parallels between Sharad Pawar’s rain-drenched speech during a bypoll campaign in 2019 and Rahul Gandhi’s address amid showers in Mysuru.

“‘Time has Proved and Time will Prove’. When the Rain Gods decide to Bless you, there will soon be a Storm in the Opposition Camp," NCP national spokesman Clyde Crasto said in a tweet, referring to Gandhi’s speech at a rally in Mysuru during his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.
