#BanDrishtiIAS: Drishti IAS Coach passes derogatory remarks against Hindu god Ram & goddess Sita, compares Sita Mata with 'ghee contaminated by dog'

It seems like IAS coaching academies have been manipulating students against Hindu gods and goddesses. Earlier, it was Vision IAS and now it is Drishti IAS who have been passing derogatory remarks against Hindu god Rama and Hindu goddess Sita.

Quoting a Sanskrit author, a teacher at Drishti IAS is seen coaching those who are aspiring to become IAS officers and helping them prepare for UPSC Civil Services Exam. However, he has compared the Hindu goddess Sita with ghee contaminated by a dog. UPSC coach Vikas Divyakirti can be heard comparing Sita Maa to dog food. After hearing his remarks, a few students can also be heard laughing in the background.

Claiming that a Sanskrit author had quoted Ram as saying, "I did not fight this war for you but for the respect of my Kul ke Saamman Ke liye (lineage). Like ghee licked by a dog cannot be used for lunch, you Sita, do not deserve me."

The teacher, however, goes on to explain that these verses could not have been said by Ram but are the author’s way of expression which did not get a seat in Tusi Das’ version of Ramayana which is widely popular today. Yet, his way of teaching is not going well with several devotees and many politicians who are trending #BanDrishtiIAS on Twitter.

Many people claim that there is no source of any such dialogue in any version of Ramayana. As per scriptures, Sita and Ram were separated after allegations on Sita after she was abducted by Ravana, however, the stated dialogue by teacher is not quoted in any version of Ramayana, argued some people.

There has been no official statement given by the Drishti IAS.

Earlier, Vision IAS had also erupted similar controversy. Several videos surfaced that went viral of a teacher of Vision IAS who has been categorically labeling the Bhakti movement in Hindus as Cult and Islam as Liberal.
