Toronto, Nov 3: The Hindu Heritage month was commenced in Canada after MP Chandra Arya raised a flag with Hindu sacred symbol 'Aum' on the Canadian parliament hill. Recently, in Sept, the House of Commons had given its nod for the proposal to celebrate 'November' as Hindu Heritage month in Canada.

Canadian MP of Indian origin, Chandra Arya, shared about the flag hoisting to Twitter saying, "Today I marked the historic beginning of Canada’s national Hindu Heritage Month by raising a flag with Hindu sacred symbol 'Aum' on parliament hill. HHM provides opportunity to recognize the contributions of 830,000 Hindu-Canadians to our country & of Hindu Heritage to the mankind."
 
 
 
 
 
In an earlier tweet MP Chandra Arya had tweeted about the House of Commons giving its nod for the proposal to celebrate 'November' as Hindu Heritage Month saying, "Historic: House of Commons unanimously passed my Private Members Motion to proclaim every year November as the national Hindu Heritage Month. This is a long overdue Canadian recognition of contributions of Hindu Heritage to the mankind and of Hindu-Canadians to our country."
 
 
Arya had later mentioned in yet another tweet, "I hope this will motivate Hindu - Canadians to continue on their growth path in Canada and reach further higher levels in all spheres of Canadian society/life: economy or business; academic or culture; politics or philanthropy."
