Bengaluru, December 15: In a shocking development, without taking consultation from Congress’ high command, former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah yet again announced the name of another candidate ahead of Karnataka assembly elections and even sought votes for him.

While addressing the public, Siddaramaiah took it upon himself to declare former MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar as Congress candidate from Hungund Assembly Constituency in Bagalkot without even waiting for the party’s confirmation.

The senior Congress leader announced the candidature of Kashappanavar and said, "Vijayanand Kashapanavar should be given the ticket. 100 per cent he will win and with all your blessings, he will come to Vidhan Soudha".

This is not the first time that Siddaramiah has announced a candidate for the 2023 Karnataka elections without consulting Congress's high command. Even in November, the former CM announced candidates for five constituencies in the state, leaving the party and state President DK Shivakumar embarrassed.

Siddaramaiah had announced these five candidates while attending a marriage reception in Vanambari village in the Koppal district of Karnataka in November."You should vote for Shivaraj Thangadi in Kanakagiri, Amaregowda Byapuri in Kushtagi, Basavaraj Rayareddy in Yelburga, Raghavendra Hitnal in Koppal and Iqbal Ansari in Gangavathi, make them all Victorious," Siddaramaiah said while addressing the public gathered for the reception.

With that development, it seems like the Congress leaders are not considering the Congress' high command before making a such huge announcement. This development is again pointing out that there is huge miss communication between the party leaders of the grand old party.
