"It is 30 years since a mob of Hindu supremacists destroyed the historic Babri Mosque in Ayodhya in India. The forces of religious fanaticism & Islamophobia unleashed that dark day have grown in strength in India. This must not go unnoticed. Islamic heritage must be protected," he tweeted.

However, while speaking of religious discrimination, Bhutto might have forgotten about the status of Hindu temples and Sikh gurudwaras in his own country. Raising similar concerns, Pakistani journalists slammed the Minister for the increasing atrocities against the minorities in his country.

Pakistani journalist Veengas wrote in her tweet, "If we speak, people say that she is speaking. But sometimes we can’t tolerate things that have nothing to do with reality. Bhutto Sahab, your tweet may please Urdu media and fundamentalists, but it is not true. Well, when is your government going to protect the temples?"

At the same time, another journalist Pirah Mangi said, "You must read ancient Indian History before narrating any event of the history. There are series of dreadful events; how Muslim rulers destroyed thousands of ancient structure of temples in the name of religion. Historic temples are still being annihilated in Sindh"

She added, "Would you say “Hinduphobia” for destruction of Hindu ancient temples? Please…refrain from Islamizing things anymore. We have paid / still paying a lot after Zia’s Islamization, we can’t afford any form of religionized politics."

Besides, on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court of India favoured Ram Lalla Virajmaan and handed over the disputed land to the Hindus in its landmark judgment. The court had asked the central government to form a trust that will take over the construction of Bhavya Ram Mandir.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was formed in February 2020. On August 5, Bhoomipujan was performed at Ram Janmabhoomi to begin the construction of the temple in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders and saints. The construction of the temple is expected to complete by December 2023.
