The 800-year-old Deoband Madarsa in Uttar Pradesh
Deoband (UP), Feb 1: Deoband, famous for its worldwide acclaim as the highest seat of Islamic learning after Mecca, has raised its voice against the atmosphere of bigotry and hatred deliberately being spread by some vested political interests in furtherance of their vote bank politics and emphasized the need for a riot-free, terrorism-free peaceful India.
A recently concluded meeting of the prominent Muslim clerics, intellectuals, and others resolved to work for building a riot-free India where there will be no place for bigotry and hatred. intellectuals, dignitaries, and other members of the Muslim community announced in one voice the need to free India from riots and panic and launch a campaign against those who spread hatred and indulge in religious bigotry.
This meeting is considered as the ambitious move of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM to reach out to a larger section of the Muslims to convince them to cast their votes in favor of the BJP in UP, Uttarakhand and other poll-bound states. The election fever is already catching up in these states.
The participants declared unanimously that Hindus and Muslims were one, are one, and shall remain one forever underlining the need to rein in the voices that spread and preach hatred whether they emerged from the Muslim religious leaders or Hindu religious congregations.
Addressing the meeting of such intellectuals and scholars Dr. Majid Ali Talikoti, National Convener of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) urged them to work to inculcate the feeling of unity, goodwill, and brotherhood among the people of India irrespective of their religions.
Bilal-Ur-Rahman, National Convener of Hindustani First-Hindustan Best Intellectual forum floated by the MRM, Co-Convener Azimul Haque Siddiqui, Arshad Iqbal, social activist Aqeel Ahmad Khan, and MRM Media in charge Shahid Sayeed recently visited Deoband and Meerut and met various groups of religious clergy, scholars, and intellectuals from Muslim community. They visited the Darul Uloom Deoband the highest seat of Islamic learning and interacted with the Moulans there.
Dr. Majid Ahmad Talikoti said that today education, health, and safety are of top priority. Efforts are being made to take every section of society along on all issues. The government has not discriminated against any society or section. Along with a better education system, the necessary infrastructure is being provided to the students from village to village.
Self-employment centers have been opened at various places for self-reliance among the youth. Innumerable steps have been taken by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises for self-reliance. People of all religions and societies can take advantage of all these schemes without any discrimination, he said.
On the question of Dharmasansad, Dr. Talikoti said, ‘It is neither related to the government nor to the organization. Whether the voice in Dharmasansad should be raised from Uttarakhand or from Uttar Pradesh, we do not support any language that breaks the society, he said. The intellectuals emphasized further improvement in the education of Muslims, linking with self-employment, giving more emphasis to the deprived and exploited society.
The special thing is that Imam, doctors, professors, engineers, chartered accountants, senior educationists, as well as people from the oppressed and exploited society of the society participated in these interactive meetings.
MRM Media in charge Shahid Sayeed said that the time has come that people should not be misguided and support such a government and a party that does not do politics of appeasement, but the path of development and trust equally available for all.
He said that the community should increase communication among each other so that the dust of misunderstanding that has been created for years can be removed at the earliest. He said that Muslim and Hindu societies need to walk shoulder to shoulder. Sayeed said that there are only 2 percent such people from both the communities, who try to bake their rotis by increasing the distance between them. It is not that there is an attempt to spoil the atmosphere only by what was said in the Dharma Sansad of Uttarakhand, but in the morning and evening on TV channels, some fake Maulana and so-called Ulema with beard-caps also show up in the society every day because of their condition and caste. They work to spread the poison.
Giving information about the work done in the interests of Muslims, National Convener of Intellectual Cell, Bilal-ur-Rehman said that the government has done excellent work with an open heart considering every section of the society, every community as its own.
During this, poor Muslims got houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, cooking gas connections were provided under the Ujjwala scheme to all without discrimination. From Waqf Council to Haj Committee, excellent work has been done.
Bilal said that the government has increased the quota of Haj pilgrims from 80 thousand to 2 lakh. The government has also done a great job regarding the Madrasa Board. Today both religious and secular education is being provided in madrasas and all this is the result of clear intention and positive thinking. The achievements of the government are incalculable, he said.
Addressing a meeting at Islamiya Group of College Dr. Majid Ahmed Talikoti appealed to the people to work for creating a riot and terrorism-free India. He said that the government did not discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion.
He said that the government has opened self-employment centers for youths besides a number of gestures from micro, small and medium enterprises ministry for making the country self-reliant and the benefits of such schemes are being enjoyed by the people without any discrimination.
