ED summons Nawab Malik's brother in Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case

Mumbai, February 24: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Kaptan Malik, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik's brother, in connection with Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case, informed his family on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nawab Malik's sister also reached the ED office on Thursday.

This comes a day after Nawab Malik got arrested in a money laundering case linked to activities of the Mumbai underworld. Malik was then remanded to the ED’s custody till March 3.
 
 
The money laundering case pertains to Nawab Malik's alleged deal with aides of Dawood Ibrahim, said reports. The ED was investigating a case registered against Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees, Iqbal, aide Chota Shakeel and others.

Last week, the ED started conducting searches at various locations across Mumbai for elements related to the underworld and Dawood Ibrahim.

The ED raids were in connection with the recently registered case against Dawood Ibrahim by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). According to reports, ED established a money trail linking Nawab Malik to people connected to the underworld.
