Madhya Pradesh to offer MBBS in Hindi language from April

Bhopal, Feb 25: Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang while addressing a Press Conference in Bhopal, informed that the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) will now be taught in Hindi as well.

Further, he said that the Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal will be the first to start offering the course in Hindi. “MBBS will be taught in Hindi medium. Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College will start offering MBBS course in Hindi from April,” the MP minister said.
 
At least three subjects of the first year will be taught in Hindi to the new MBBS batch of Gandhi Medical College. To begin with in the first phase, Hindi language would be the preferred medium on campus. Upon entry into the medical college, a student’s proficiency of Hindi would be assessed.
 
 
Teachers will be urged for medical education in Hindi. Course would be translated into Hindi with the option of transliteration, making it easy on the students. Three committees have been formed for rolling out medical education in Hindi. Translation will be scanned by various subject experts. A timeline has been framed.
 
Three committee have been formed to do so. Committee one will take care of action plan for the use of Hindi in medical curriculum and preparation of supplementary reference books in Hindi. It will be under guidance of Atal Bihari Hindi University. A second committee will prepare supplementary reference books in Hindi for Anatomy, Physiology and Bio-Chemistry The role of third committee is verification and finalise the subject prepared in Hindi.
