Ahmedabad, March 1: Gujarat's ex-chief minister Vijay Rupani has sent a legal notice to Congress leaders in the state, for alleging that he was part of a Rs 500 crore scam. After returning from the US, Rupani sent legal notices to Congress leader Sukhram Rathwa, and his two colleagues - asking them to give evidence of the corruption.
If they fail to do so and don't tender an apology in 15 days, Rupani said he would file a defamation case against them. Congress has alleged that BJP govnt under the leadership of former CM Vijay Rupani changed the zoning of the land belonging to the Rajkot Urban Development Authority from residential to industrial, to benefit Sahara India Home Corporation.
Rupani said, "Yesterday, I came back from America and met my lawyers. I have sent legal notice to Congress leaders. I am not going to accept any allegations which are completely baseless and without proof. I am giving them 15 days time to come with proofs and evidence of the Rs 500 crore corruption or else apologise."
