Telangana's K. Chandrashekar Rao government has a long history of uttering nonsense about the Indian Armed Forces and questioning their abilities. In keeping with this history, now this time, one of the KCR cabinet ministers, KT Rama Rao, Municipal Administration, and Urban Development Minister, in his haughtiness of power, has threatened to disconnect electricity and water supplied to the military authorities.

He said if the armed forces did not stop causing inconvenience to the people, the Telangana government might disconnect the supplies.

Addressing the state Legislative Assembly, Rao said, "We will cut power and water supply if needed to military authorities (Cantonment limits) because it is not fair to close the roads whenever they want."

Rao claimed the state government had filed complaints with the centre over the issues, including road closures and obstructions caused by the military authorities in the Nala development program. He claimed the Centre had not taken any action in the matter and it was causing inconvenience to the people.

He said, "Telangana is not a different country. Our officials will hold a meeting with them. If they don’t understand, we have to take strong action. If needed, we will cut power and water supplies to them and see whether they will climb down from their stand." He further directed the state government officials to arrange a meeting with the Local Military Authorities (LMA) and cantonment authorities immediately.

Reacting to his haughty behaviour, Union Minister For Culture, Tourism minister, G Kishan Reddy, hit out KTR saying the statement of KTR is an insult to the service & sacrifice of our defence personnel.

He said that the issue of cantonment roads needs to be handled sensitively as Cantonment feels that is a threat to security and installations within the area.

He also pointed out, how Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao mocked the Indian Armed forces saying they ran away against China. He also underlined how KCR and a TRS MLA asked for proof for surgical strikes.

Rao was speaking during the Question Hour on Saturday in the state Assembly on the implementation of the ‘Strategic Nala Development Programme’ in Hyderabad.
