Bhagwant Mann sworn-in as Punjab CM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extended his congratulations to Bhagwant Mann, on taking oath as the Punjab Chief Minister.

Khatkar Kalan, Mar 16: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Punjab at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar district.

The oath was administered by Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia. Beginning his address by chanting Jo Bole So Nihal and Bharat Mata ki Jai, Mann said, “I will have to be born many times to repay this debt…Even a rooster sports a crown but those who rule win hearts.”
 
 
 
After taking the oath, Bhagwant Mann said, "I appeal to you all [newly-elected MLAs] to not get arrogant. We have to respect even those who didn't vote for us. I thank you all and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal."
 
 
Soon after that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extended his congratulations to Bhagwant Mann, on taking oath as the Punjab Chief Minister.PM Modi tweeted, “Congratulations to Shri Bhagwant Mann Ji on taking oath as Punjab CM. Will work together for the growth of Punjab and the welfare of the state’s people.”
 
 
The AAP led by Mann and Kejriwal had swept the Punjab assembly elections 2022, winning 92 seats in the 117-member legislative assembly of the state. Mann, who had contested the polls from the Dhuri assembly seat in the Sangrur district, won against Congress' Dalvir Singh Goldy by a margin of more than 58,200 votes.
