Bhopal. 24 March. “Our culture has welcomed everyone. We have never tried to impose our views on anyone. This is India, where people are taught since childhood that there should be the victory of truth, harmony among creatures, and welfare of the world.” Said CM of MadhyaPradesh Shivrash Singh Chouhan. He inaugurated Chitrabharti Film Festival: “Kal Aaj aur Kal” at Bhopal. While interacting with the media he said the above lines.

He said, “Cinema is a strong medium, but nowadays so many distorted things are also shown in this cinema. OTT has many times promoted obscenity and anti-Indian culture content. Some people are misrepresenting the idea of ​​India in a systematic way. Cinema has a deep impact on the hearts and minds of people. In such a situation, it is necessary that positive content should be broadcast through cinema. These efforts have started through Chitra Bharati, it is a good thing. Control over the OTT platform is essential.”




“Madhya Pradesh is also progressing rapidly in the field of film production. Our government has made this policy that the production of the film, the right direction and positive cinema and artists should be encouraged.” he further added. He also said that “The film's job is to entertain, but it is also its job to educate. The Madhya Pradesh government will provide assistance to encourage films that promote Indianness.”


The exhibition depicted the contribution and importance of Bharatmuni, Rajasekhar, Bhatta Narayan, Vishakhadat, Shudraka, Pushpadanta Gandharva, Abhinav Gupta, Panini, Bhavabhuti, Bhasa, and Kalidasa in the Indian theatrical tradition. Apart from this, photographs of all the Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipients from 1969 till now have also been put in the exhibition.

Portraits of Madhya Pradesh-born artists like director Vivek Agnihotri, actor Ashutosh Rana, singer Lata Mangeshkar, singer Palak Muchhal, singer Shaan, lyricist Swananand Kirkire, actors Raghuveer Yadav and Kishore Kumar were also displayed in the exhibition. These are the people who left their mark in the cinema world.
