Amritsar, Apr 15: Fireworks enhanced the glory of Baisakhi celebrations at Amritsar's Sri Harmandir Sahib Darbar, more renowned as the Golden Temple. Devotees offered prayers throughout the day and had queued up at the temple for the entire day.
President Ram Nath Kovind as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier extended their greetings to the Sikh community on the occasion of Baisakhi. President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted at the same time, "Greetings to all the countrymen on Vaisakhi, Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Nab Barsha, Vaishakhadi and Putan Du Pirapu. Celebrated in different ways in different regions of the country, these festivals show our diversity and plurality. I wish that this festival brings happiness in everyone's life."
PM Modi had tweeted, "Greetings to everyone, especially the Sikhs on the special occasion of Khalsa Saajna Diwas. The Khalsa Panth motivates countless people across the world. Inspired by it, Sikhs have distinguished themselves globally in diverse fields."
Earlier, the Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana visited the Golden Temple on Apr 13. CJI Ramana said, "My good wishes for Baisakhi. I'm very happy today as my lifetime dream came true as my family members and I reached Golden temple, I thank the managing committee."
