Accepting his resignation, CM Bommai has sent it to the Governor, Thawar Chand Gehlot. "I have accepted Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa's resignation, will be sent to the governor," CM Basavaraj said.

Submitting the resignation to CM Bommai, Eshwarappa asked CM to conduct an investigation into the alleged sucide case of contractor Santosh Patil. Ehwarappa claimed that he was asking senior ministers to accept his resignation for the past four days.

It should be noted that the contractor Patil committed suicide a week after accusing the Eshwarappa of corruption. His body was found at a hotel in Udupi. In his death note, he had blamed the minister for his death. Following this Karnataka police have filed FIR against the minister for allegedly abetting the suicide of Santosh Patil.

Last month complained to Union Rular Development Minister Giriraj Singh that he was yet to be paid Rs. 4 crores for road works undertaken in Hindalga village. He had alleged that Minister's aides were demanding a 40% commission for the release of the payment.
