Ripples A Reflection On Dattopant Thengadi's Third Way - Part 20

I have been reflecting in my own way on Dattopant Thengadi Ji's Third Way. I present these small "ripples" that it has caused in my mind in a series. I am glad it has found its resonance in many thinking minds alike. I hope the readers have read the earlier article in the series before moving ahead.   

 

 

 

We as a society are infested with the social evils like 'regionalism,linguism, casteism, communalism, sectarianism and many more desruptive elements'. Dattopant stated that the cause lies in deviation from 'swabhav' and 'swadharma'. 

 

Deendayal Ji's 'Ekatma Manav Darshan' ( Integral Humanism) too points out the same cause. ( All these concepts represent Indian aspects ,of course philosophical. They need to be discussed in detail. In this article there is a reference to these concepts. Swabhav may be described as a natural disposition of something. Swadharma implies the duty part of anyone depending upon many elements like the stage of life, the roles one plays as an individual or as a member of society and many more aspects of an individual. All these factors define one's duty which is to be followed. Integral humanism too is a theory which needs a detail discussion.)

 

Western perspective is different, it is homocentric, it probably implies that ,' all things are for man'. On the contrary if one goes by Indian way of thinking the implications would not be same. For example, if one goes by one's swabhav, cruelty in any field will not be a part of our thinking. The nature which covers every living or non living object will be treated as a part of the system that we too belong to. Nothing can be treated as a means, everything will be treated as an end in itself. Superficial materialism will have no place in this system. Cruelty with animals or using them as means will certainly have no space.
