Mandya, Apr 8: A day after Al Qaeda leader Al Zawahiri praised Muskan Khan, the girl who had gone viral for aggressively protesting against Karnataka govt's decision to ban hijab in educational institutions, her father has reacted to the terrorist's video. And he has denied any appreciation from Zawahiri.

Mohammad Hussain Khan, father of Muskan Khan, said reacting to Al Qaeda leader's video that "I don't know who they are. They said something in Arabic. I don't know what they said. By this (Zawahiri's video) confusion will be created among us. It is not at all needed." Khan refused to comment on the video and denied even knowing who Zawahiri is.

Khan has said, "I don't want appreciation. We are staying here happy. Let us be happy. There is govt, there is law, there is police; they will take a future course of action." He further added, "I'm living here (in India), with peace and harmony, I don't know what's happening abroad. We stay like brothers here." Muskan's father has said that the hijab row is unfortunate and that if the college would not allow girls to wear hijab, he will send Muskan to different college where she'll be allowed to wear a hijab.

In the video that the Al Qaeda had recently released, Zawahiri had recited a poem praising Muskan's bravery. He stated, "Her (Muskan's) takbeers (refers to her slogans "Allahu Akbar") inspired me to write a few words of poetry in spite of the fact that I am not a poet. I hope that our honorable sister accepts this gift of words from me."
