Delegates at the FANS 7th AGM held at Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu
Stating that security has three dimensions namely, internal security, external security, and border security he said that it is the duty of all of us to guard the security of our country. We should not panic but work for awakening the society to confront and deal successfully and confidently with any type of challenge to our security, he added.
Indresh Kumar further said that some vested interests are trying to create conflicts in the name of caste, language, and religion but we all must condemn such efforts in one voice. We are not opposed to following your religious rituals well within the discipline. In fact, you should invite people of other religions to participate in your festivals to generate an atmosphere of communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood.
Referring to cruelties inflicted on Hindus in Kashmir or during the time of the Mughal Rule of Aurangzeb Indresh Kumar said that so long as the society is not free it would be difficult to ensure internal security. He said India is committed to truth and honor for all. India is the only country in the world that has welcomed, respected, and accepted all the religions of the world, and yet, they are calling us ‘Anti-secular’, he sarcastically said.
Invitation to all and participation of all in the socio-religious functions and festivals of all the communities is the only guarantee of security, he emphatically advocated.
He said that our identity is by our character, by our motherland, and by our culture and not by our way of worship. The country connects us with each other and this is the only truth and guarantee of security, he concluded.
N Umashankar, Vice President of Tamil Nadu FANS Chapter proposed the vote of thanks followed by the national anthem to mark the conclusion of the inaugural session.
