According to the reports, Divya Kumari said Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had occupied the land from the royal family, where the Taj Mahal has been built. She said, “It was the Mughal govt then. Even today, if a govt acquires land from you, it gives you compensation and I heard there was no compensation given then." She further added, "But back then there was no law where you could appeal. It was definitely the royal family’s land."

The MP also mentioned the ongoing case in Allahabad HC's Lucknow bench regarding the 20 rooms of Taj Mahal, that is to be heard in a few hours and said, “it is good that someone has raised their voice and filed a petition. If there is a need for any documents or anything, we will provide the documents if the court orders so.”

Earlier, Dr. Rajneesh Singh had filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court to seek directives to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for opening 20 rooms inside the Taj Mahal in Agra. Singh's petition aims to ascertain whether Hindu idols and inscriptions are hidden there.
