Coca Cola’s bottling partner SLMG invests Rs 700 Cr in Amethi’s industrial area

Lucknow, May 21: In a huge boost to employment in Amethi, SLMG Beverages, the largest bottler for Coca-Cola in India, has been allocated 34.48-acre land in Amethi’s Trishundi Industrial Area.
It is pertinent to mention that the company will be setting up a beverages packing plant at a proposed investment of Rs 700 crore.
UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) CEO Mayur Maheshwari said that it took only 17 days for the authority to create a “tailor-made plot” of 34.48 acres for SLMG Beverages and then allot it.
“This shows the commitment of UPSIDA to welcome companies to establish themselves in UP and also reverberate the ease of doing business reforms undertaken by the UP government for making the state the most preferred investment destination,” he said.
Maheshwari said that UP had been a preferred destination for SLMG Beverages which had seven manufacturing units spread across the state. The proposed project in Amethi was expected to provide employment to 650 people.
