Rishi Tiwari is the name of the student who was suspended by Azim Premji University. Reportedly, since his induction intoUniversity in 2020 as a post-graduate student of MA Development, he has been facing discrimination from the students and teachers as well for just being a Hindu and associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He was also even humiliated by students belonging to the Muslim university for the same reason.

His suspension comes after a group of students of the ‘Islamist' portrayed themselves as victims and falsely accused him, claiming that Tiwari threw food on them and also physically assaulted them while they were breaking their Roza fast. The incident took place on May 1.

However, as per the Rishi, on May 1, some groups of Muslim students surrounded him, and then they verbally and physically harassed him.

On the next day, some students and leftist ideology professors staged a protest against him, demanding his expulsion from the university. They also filed a complaint which was filed before the Director of the School of Development. After which, the university suspended him without even hearing his side.
