Rs. 400 Cr budget outlay for Uttar Pradesh's Defence Corridor Project

Lucknow, May 26: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded the proposed outlay of Rs. 400 Crores for the development of Gen Bipin Rawat Defence and Industrial Corridor in Bundelkhand after Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the state's budget for 2022 - 2023 on Thursday (May 26) in the state assembly.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "We have proposed Rs. 400 Crore for the development of General Bipin Rawat Defence and Industrial Corridor in Bundelkhand. We also propose to set up anti - corruption organization units in eight divisions of the state."

Stressing over the plans to boost 'one district, one product' scheme in the state, he said, "We propose over Rs. 200 crores to promote the scheme in the state. A provision of Rs. 300 Crores is proposed for projects on optical fiber cable network." Earlier, the state Fin Min had promised that UP budget 2022 - 2023 would focus on infrastructure, employment generation, youth and women.

The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is planned across 6 nodes; Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, which spreads across Central, East and West region of Uttar Pradesh and along the Golden Quadrilateral connecting Delhi – Kolkata supported by networks of expressways; Yamuna Expressway, Agra – Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Ganga Expressway.
