The police revealed this information in the remand report. The report was submitted to the Alappuzha judicial magistrate court on Monday. In a report, police said PFI Palluruthy division president Shameer and Thrippunithura mandalam secretary of group affiliate Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Sudheer NY, both accused in the case, played a key role in tutoring the child.

Sudheer is said to be a friend of the kid's father who encouraged him to recite the communally charged slogans. Notably, Ashkar Ali, the father of the child and an active member of the PFI was nabbed by Kerela Police on Saturday.

The remand report further stated that Shameer and Sudheer unlawfully 'used the child for provocative sloganeering with the intention of creating riots and communal enmity.' The remand report also cited that the child’s father also incited him to deliver the provocative slogans.

"Though there is a law that children should not be used for such illegal activities, the accused 24 to 27 (the boy’s father) with other accused used the child for provocative sloganeering with the intention of creating riots and communal enmity. The father allowed the child to participate in this," the remand report submitted before an Alappuzha first-class judicial magistrate court said.

Police have so far arrested 26 PFI activists in connection with this case and more are being questioned. The accused have been booked under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 505 (conducting public mischief), among others, of the Indian Penal code.
