Hindu idols and inscriptions hidden in Taj Mahal? Petition filed to open 20 rooms of the monument

New Delhi, May 9: Dr. Rajneesh Singh has filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court to seek directives to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for opening 20 rooms inside the Taj Mahal in Agra. Singh's petition aims to ascertain whether Hindu idols and inscriptions are hidden there.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) media in-charge, Ayodhya district, Dr. Rajneesh Singh has filed the petition that is being represented by Advocate Rudra Vikram Singh. The petition reads that, "There is an old controversy related to the Taj Mahal. Around 20 rooms in Taj Mahal are locked and no one is allowed to enter. It is believed that in these rooms there are idols of Hindu gods and scriptures."

Dr. Rajneesh Singh said, "I have filed a petition in the high court seeking directives to ASI to open these rooms to ascertain facts. There is no harm in opening these rooms and setting to rest all controversies." According to the reports, the petitioner mentions in the plea to sought directives from the court to the state govt, in order to constitute a committee that would examine the rooms and look for any evidence related with the Hindu idols or scriptures.
 
Mentioning about the RTI filed in 2020 with the Union ministry of Culture seeking information about the rooms, Dr. Singh of BJP said, "Since 2020, I have been trying to ascertain facts about the locked rooms of Taj Mahal. I had filed an RTI. Replying to the RTI, the Union ministry of Culture informed the Central Information Commission (in Delhi) that these rooms were locked due to security reasons and no detail was provided about these rooms."
 
 
 
 
 
Several pro - Hindu organizations believe that the Taj Mahal is actually 'Tejo Mahalaya', a Hindu temple. He also added that "When all my efforts failed then I approached the Lucknow high court seeking directives to the govt to open these rooms and constitute a fact-finding committee to find out whether Hindu gods and scriptures are inside them."

Earlier in July 2020, BJP leader Kapil Mishra had shared an article on twitter stating that, "All scientific evidence prove that Taj Mahal is Tejo Mahalaya, ancient Hindu Vedic temple. For 300 years the world was fooled to believe that Taj Mahal was built by the Shahjahan."
