When judge KK gave advice to contestant Arijit Singh

In a shattering turn of events, singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known as KK, passed away on Tuesday, May 31 at the age of 53. The singer's demise has left the music and film fraternity in a deep shock. Many eminent celebrities took to social media to remember the celebrated singer.

Apart from lending his voice to many Bollywood songs, KK had also been a part of the jury of the music-based reality show, Fame Gurukul. It was not known to many that renowned singer Arijit Singh, was a contestant on the show.

Many years ago, KK was asked if he had spotted Arijit Singh's talent on the said show. KK had then opened up about the advice he had offered Arijit, who in his words, was talented even then "I had told him, and there were other contestants too, to treat the show as a stepping stone. Once you're out in the real world, you must wait for the right opportunity and not burn yourself out. And Arijit did have his share of struggle till he got his rightful breaks," he was quoted saying.
 
 
KK told Arijit that, “You’re a very very gifted singer, and we all think that you have another stage to perform in anyway, so all the best. Don’t worry.” KK always believed that if one's good, no one can keep you down. "It may just take a little longer sometimes," he added. This shows the singer had a huge heart and the eye for spotting talent.

KK passed away in Kolkata, where he had gone to perform at a college event. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) after he collapsed in his hotel room. Throughout his journey in the Indian music industry and films, KK blessed us with several hit songs. He had also done over 3,500 jingles apart from his music albums such as Pal and Humsafar.
