Pro-Pakistan slogans raised during Asaduddin Owaisi's Jharkhand visit; Police orders probe

Ranchi, June 20: An investigation has been ordered, after pro-Pakistan slogans were raised when All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi arrived at Ranchi airport in Jharkhand.

The incident happened when the Hyderabad-based Lok Sabha MP arrived at the Ranchi airport on Sunday to campaign for the by-election to the Mandar Assembly seat. The video of the incident went viral on social media, following which a probe was ordered to probe the video.

Ranchi deputy commissioner (DC) Chhavi Ranjan said that a joint committee of magistrates and deputy superintendents of police has been set up to probe the authenticity of the video.

" A video of the incident went viral on social media. In a bid to check the authenticity of the video, a joint committee of magistrate and deputy superintendent of police has been set up to probe it," he said.
 


He further mentioned that Ranchi’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has also set up a team to investigate the technical aspects of the video.

Meanwhile, AIMIM's Jharkhand unit president Mohammed Shakri said it was an attempt to tarnish the party's image. "None of our workers raised such slogans. If any such incident took place, the administration should immediately arrest the person behind it," he said.
