As per the reports, a police complaint has been filed at Kaup police station in Udupi against the miscreants who are responsible for these alleged messages and threat calls.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) national general secretary of OBC Morcha, Yashpal Suvarna, also confirmed that he is receiving life-threatening messages and calls for opposing Hijab. It should be noted that Yashpal is also vice-president of the Udupi government Pre-University College Development Committee.

He said, "Getting such messages and calls through social media is very common in public life. When we work for the nation, anti-national organisations or traitors issue such threats from abroad. I will not take it seriously. It’s a part of life. We are doing our work within the limits of the Constitution. An Instagram post about me and Pramod Muthalik does not make any difference. We will not take back our steps."

Apart from him, a bounty has also been announced against Sri Ram Sena Chief Pramod Muthlik on social media. As per the social media post, whoever kills Survarna and Muthalik will get Rs 10 Lakh each.

This comes after, 24 students were suspended in Uppinangady town for trying to wear hijab in the classroom even after several warnings from college authorities.
