For the past 2-3 days one name is everywhere on the Internet and that name is, Nupur Sharma. The moment on a TV debate show she made some remarks about Prophet Mohommad, the entire Internet is filled with a lot much news. Nupur Sharma is suspended from BJP, She and her family are receiving death threats. Not even her but the other organizations like RSS are also receiving bomb threats and Al Quida has also warned India about the suicide bomb attacks.

Nupur Sharma

Now the question is what a common man thinks about this entire episode? When we went on Twitter and checked so many tweets under #NupurSharma we saw a common fact that the majority Hindu community is affected by the suspension of Nupur Sharma. and #IStandWithNupurSharma is getting viral. At the same time, the Muslim community is affected by the remarks, and their outrage is seen everywhere on the internet. However, when Hindu Deities are insulted no death threats to Munavvar Faruqi were seen from the opposite community? When Maulana talks about Killing Hindus in Kashmir just because they are Kafir no death threats from the opposite community are seen. Are we allowed to question why?

Common people are asking such questions. Why is extreme hypocrisy? Here is one tweet that is saying about Munavvar Faruqi: “He made fun of Hindu Dharma and won the reality show. And She (Nupur Sharma), protected Hindu Dharma she got the death threats.” It is not we, the common people are saying this. For one thing, is there, many people feel that Nupur Sharma could have used better words to describe her point. But this doesn’t allow anyone or any group to give her the death threats.

Another point people are raising is, “When maulanas are talking bad about Hindu Gods, why they aren’t treated in the same way as Nupur Sharma? Yesterday on Zee News debate one Maulana was talking about “Shivlinga” in a very derogatory way. Is it acceptable? Is that maulana receiving death threats? Why?

Again giving death threats to anyone is not the right way, and we need to accept what is wrong is wrong. However, the kind of outrage Nupur Sharma is facing is something that is not digestible for a common man, and hence they are sharing their views on the internet space.

Here are some tweets, that you would want to check :
