SC holds Nupur Sharma responsible for Udaipur beheading, asks her to apologise to the whole country

New Delhi, July 1: In what comes as shocking development over the hearing of Nupur Sharma who is facing death threats, the Supreme Court has blamed the former BJP spokesperson for the brutal Udaipur murder and has stated that her ‘loose tongue’ has set the entire country on fire and she should apologise to the whole country.

 

Nupur Sharma had moved the SC seeking the transfer of all the FIRs registered against her, across several states to Delhi for further investigation. Sharma, in her application, stated that she is facing constant death threats. "She has threatened the security of the nation", it said. "She should apologise to the whole country. Supreme Court says she and her loose tongue has set the entire country on fire. Her outburst is responsible for the unfortunate incident at Udaipur, where a tailor was murdered," it added.

 

 

"What is the business of the TV channel and Nupur Sharma to discuss the matter which is sub-judice, except to promote an agenda?" it asked. Notably, she has apologised for her comments to the whole world. Senior advocate Maninder Singh, appearing for Nupur Sharma, tells Supreme Court that she apologised for the remarks and withdrew the comments. Responding to this, the top court said, "she should have gone to the TV and apologized to the nation. She (Nupur Sharma) was too late to apologise and withdraw the statement, says Supreme Court.

 

Nupur Sharma's advocate tells Supreme Court that she has threat to her life. However, continuing to its blame on Nupur Sharma for the Udaipur beheading, Justice Surya Kant says she has threat or she has become a security threat? The way she has ignited emotions across the country, she is single-handedly responsible for what is happening in the country." It also asked what the Delhi Police has done after a complaint registered against Nupur Sharma.

 

 

Calling her arrogant, it said, "because she is the spokesperson of a party, power has gone to her head". Supreme Court suggested Nupur Sharma's lawyer to approach the High court's concerned in this case. When Nupur Sharma's lawyer tells Supreme Court that she is joining the investigation and not running away, Supreme Court says - there must be a red carpet for you there.

 

Supreme Court refused to grant relief to suspended BJP leader Nupur for transferring all FIRs registered against her to Delhi. Nupur Sharma withdraws her plea from the Supreme Court. "When you lodge a complaint against someone, that person is arrested but nobody dares to touch you that shows your clout," said Supreme Court for Nupur Sharma.
