Hindu nurse Rima Pramanik brutally murdered in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Jul 13: Police have recovered the body of a nurse from a private hospital in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district in Bangladesh on Monday (Jul 11) morning. The deceased was identified as Rima Pramanik, 19, daughter of Sentu Pramanik, of Pirizkandi village under Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district.

The victim’s body was recovered from the United Hospital and Orthopedics Center in Bhairab around 10am. She worked as a nurse in United Hospital and Orthopedics Center. According to police and local sources, Rima was working as a nurse in the hospital the last two years. She took leave from the hospital on July 7 and went to her house.

According to Bangladesh media, Rima returned to the hospital from home on Jul 9, after receiving a phone call from the hospital authorities. Later, her body was found in a hospital bed in the morning. Being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the body.

Bhairab Police Station officer in charge Golam Mostafa said they recovered the body and sent to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action would be taken in this regard, said the OC.
