Mumbai, Jul4 14: Amid ongoing controversy over representation of the Natonal emblem above the new Parliament building, actor Anupam Kher has passed remark over the row.
For those unversed, opposition parties and several activists recently demanded the removal of the statue and alleged that the government has "distorted" the national emblem. Some opposition leaders had also accused the PM Modi-led government of replacing the "graceful and regally confident" Ashoka's lions with those that look frightening.
The Kashmir Files actor took to Twitter and shared a video which was shot at Prime Minister’s Sangrahalaya and tweeted, “Arey Bhai! Sher ke daant honge toh dikhaenge hi! Aakhirkar swatantra bharat ka sher hai. Zaroorat padhi toh kaat bhi sakta hai. Jai Hind!"
The controversy erupted earlier this week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the cast of the national emblem on top of the new Parliament building in the presence of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
