Mexico has submitted a proposal at UN to set up a 3-member panel for global truce. Mexico has sought that the 3-member commission should have PM Narendra Modi, Pope Francis and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. As per the proposal, the 3-member panel will promote a five-year ceasefire across the world. The panel will aim for a global ceasefire in physical and trade wars between nations. During the ceasefire, all nations must come together and serve the underprivileged.

Quite an honor for India, which shows its rising stature.

INTERNAL SECURITY

Revocation Of Article 370 third Anniversary

There is no more stone pelting and no shutdown. Schools are opened and functioning after three decades of militancy. People can move around in cities and towns without fear. Provisions laid down in Public Safety Act, and the anti-terrorist law UAPA are being implemented strictly. Separatist leaders have been pushed back to a stupor.

Extension of central laws to J&K and Ladakh have created equitable societies, and a new era of development has set in. So far, a total of 890 central laws have been made applicable, 205 state laws have been repealed, and 129 laws have been modified after the abrogation of Article 370. The rights of weaker sections like Scheduled Tribes, other traditional forest dwellers, Scheduled Castes and safari karamcharis’ are now ensured by applying relevant Acts. The rights of children and senior citizens are now being ensured.

The Government and Indian Army has taken various measures to protect the citizens, which include proactive operations against terrorists, identification and arrest of Over Ground Workers. Action against members of banned/supporters organizations has been initiated. Three years after break from past, it is moving forward, becoming destination for tourists and
businesses.

It is clear that the government is trying to create new political voices in Kashmir. Some of them are now openly talking about radicalism. The last thing we now need to do is the annihilation of Pakistan as an idea from the Kashmiri mind. It can be achieved only after we remove this from our political discourse. Bring in new voices, attack terrorist ecosystem from all sides. And never mention Pakistan.

“Jammu and Kashmir has made rapid economic progress after revocation of article 370. Pakistan's attempt to increase terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir has been check mated.”

'Make In India, Make For World' progressing rapidly

HAL developing long-endurance drone for vigil over LAC

The rotary-wing drone will have the capability to carry a load of 40 kgs, including missiles and sensors, and it is being developed to keep a strong vigil over the mountainous areas along the Line of Actual Control .

Tejas

The other two countries that have evinced interest in the aircraft are Argentina and Egypt, according to Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt. Tejas, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, is a single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft capable of operating in high threat air environments.

The pointer to future economic prosperity is ‘Make in India’. The Indian armed forces are a prominent stakeholder in its success. The numbers related to equipment and wherewithal of the services are huge. The making of military equipment gives a push to the industry. It also builds up a dual-use ecosystem of many smaller items, which in turn, boosts entrepreneurship and generates employment.

U.S. Navy Ship arrives in India for repairs

In a first, a U.S. Navy Ship, Charles Drew, arrived in India for carrying out repairs and allied services at Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Shipyard at Kattupalli, Chennai, on Sunday adding a new dimension to the fast expanding Indo-U.S. strategic partnership.

“This is the first ever repair of a U.S. Navy ship in India. The U.S. Navy had awarded a contract to L&T’s Shipyard at Kattupalli for undertaking maintenance of the ship. US ship repairs signifies the capabilities of Indian shipyards in the global ship repairing market."

Be on lookout for best technologies

The killing of Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri in central Kabul, with a new type of missile that did not even have an explosive warhead, shows how far military technology has evolved.

The operation that killed Osama bin Laden involved months of training, boots on the ground and nearly came undone when one of the helicopters used by the assault team crashed into the terror mastermind’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. While the planning for the latest operation was just as meticulous, the US deployed a drone armed with the Hellfire R-9X missile, which has no explosives and instead destroys a target with sheer kinetic energy and six metal blades that emerge from the projectile’s body just before impact.

Armed forces must be on lookout for best technologies available in the world market, analyze them for their suitability in the Indian conditions and acquire them under make in India to improve battle preparedness.

Agnipath

Commencement of recruitment rally's for Agnipath gives good opportunities for the youth to join armed forces.

Igniting Dormant Spirit of Patriotism

Under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a campaign titled Har Ghar Tiranga seeks to encourage the people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence.

Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of Independence is also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.

Igniting dormant spirit of Patriotism in every citizen will ensure that all Indians contribute to India's growth. The country will prosper only when every citizen contributes his might in developing the country. All unproductive activities must stop.

As India’s President said Moto of every Indians should be “Sabka prayas, sabka kartavya”.

EXTERNAL SECURITY

Army deployment of AI-powered surveillance systems on borders

The army is steadily cranking up the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)- powered smart surveillance systems to keep watch on troop movements, build-ups and infrastructure development along the borders with China and Pakistan.

There are "already 145 deployments of assets based on such AI-powered systems", which get feeds from satellite imagery, drones, radars, thermal cameras, electro-optical devices, motion detectors and other devices. The heterogeneous inputs are collated, interpreted and then disseminated to commanders on the frontlines to ensure “battlefield transparency” and faster decision-making.

The Indian Army is planning to use 5G services to boost frontline troops communication services that will be essential in battlefield area. The Army was the lead service when a joint services study was recently conducted on implementation of 5G in armed forces. The high bandwidth and low latency of 5G are better suited for critical communication services for front line troops.

Sri Lanka blocks visit by Chinese vessel after protest by India

Following a strong protest by India, Sri Lanka has blocked the proposed visit by a Chinese "spy vessel" to the Hambantota port in southern Sri Lanka.

China

The research vessel Yuan Wang 5 was scheduled to arrive in Hambantota, a port built by the Chinese, on Aug 11 and conduct "space tracking, satellite control and research tracking in the northwestern part of the Indian Ocean region."

“India has been able to nullify movement of Chinese vessels affecting India’s coastal security .”

6,195 km of border roads are under construction

Between 2017-18 and 2021-22, a total of 3,595 km of border roads were constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO). The BRO constructs roads on the basis of strategic requirements of a region and priority fixed by the Indian Army.

The government has given a great impetus to the development of border roads but the progress is slow due to a lack of adequate budget, modern technology and tardy execution. China has set a target of 13 years to develop the over 2,000-km-long Roads. It took us 20 years to develop the Atal Tunnel to avoid the Rohtang Pass and there are four more tunnels required to be constructed, before the Manali-Leh road becomes all- weather.

Territorial integrity is best safeguarded by infrastructure development and settlements.

Open up the borders to tourism. The infrastructure and defences are awe-inspiring and a source of confidence for the domestic population. Do away with the inner line permits.

Annual joint exercise of special forces of India, US

The joint exercise, which will go on for 21 days, aims to share best practices and experiences in areas such as 'joint mission planning and operational tactics' to improve the interoperability between the special forces of the two countries. Both the teams would jointly train, plan and execute a series of special operations, counter-terrorist operations and airborne operations in simulated scenarios on mountainous terrain.

The types of satellite communication terminals tested during the exercise included static terminals, transportable vehicle-mounted terminals, man-portable and small man-pack terminals.

Indian Army will leverage space expertise with Multi Domain Operations.

Countering Af Pak Activities

Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) said an announcement regarding "the martyrdom of a central leader", Abdul Wali, a notorious commander. His death may bring an end to a shaky indefinite ceasefire the TTP reached with the Pakistan government in June as peace talks mediated by Afghanistan's Taliban progressed.

One year after Afghanistan war, US 'doubling down; on Pacific

US is doubling down on its investment in the Pacific, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said as she concluded a five-nation visit to the region where China has been making inroads.

The U.S. has long been alarmed by China's growing political and economic ambitions. China has tried to influence foreign elections, mounted campaigns of cyber and corporate espionage, and detained millions of minority Uyghurs in camps.

Counter-Terrorism meet for UNSC

India has told a UN Security Council meeting chaired by Beijing that it was "most regrettable" that genuine and evidence-based proposals to blacklist some of the world's most notorious terrorists are being placed on hold, saying such "double standards" are rendering credibility of the Council's sanctions regime at an 'all-time low'.

In June, China, permanent member of the UN and a close ally of Pakistan, had put a hold, at the last moment, on a joint proposal by India and the US to list Pakistan-based terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki under the 1267 Al- Qaida Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council.

COUNTERING CHINESE HYBRID WAR

India's relentless and proactive diplomacy has resulted in hosting a special Counter Terrorism meeting at United Nations. This will help world to control terrorists activity in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Chinese have lot of weaknesses. We must as a nation counter all hybrid activities carried out by China against India and increase the cost of being enemy of India .

Anti-China sentiments globally are on the increase. India should also further strengthen its ties with Taiwan, for overall mutual benefits especially semiconductor chips. India should build alliances with Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asian countries to counter aggressive Chinese designs in various fields.

The arrival of Yoon Suk-yeol as President of South Korea earlier this year is a golden opportunity to strengthen the Quad by adding a new member and strengthening anti China alliance.

Conclusion

The 75th anniversary of Independence is a good occasion to reflect upon the wars and conflicts that were thrust upon India . What stood out in all these conflicts was the exceptional role played by India’s armed forces and the many acts of valour, often beyond the call of duty. However now conventional war does not appear to be on the horizon.

Instead China and Pakistan have launched an all out hybrid War on India and its people. In this war every citizen is a soldier who has to do his bit in protecting India's national security. On the 75th anniversary of India's Independence every citizens Moto should be what I can do for the country.
