On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NewsBharati has come up with an initiative to celebrate India's Independence. We have tried to attempt to introduce 75 Legendary Women of India who have made immense contributions in their respective fields.
"The battle against cancer is one of humanity’s longest. Kamal Ranadive, is India's unsung cancer crusader. She was one of India’s trailblazers in early cancer research.
Kamal Ranadive was the first in India to propose the correlation between breast cancer occurrence and heredity – which was confirmed later. Her work on leprosy bacteria led to the discovery of the necessary upgrade to the Leprosy vaccine in India.
