Chiyaan Vikram also spoke highly of the Tanjore Brihadeeswara temple. He also said, "It not about South India, North India, East India or West India, it is about India and We should be proud of it".

This came after the PS-1 team was asked why it is relevant to show history in today’s time, and Chiyaan Vikram’s answer is winning the internet. “Someone once said that we are appreciating a building (The Leaning Tower of Pisa) that doesn’t stand straight, but we have temples today that stand and they didn’t use plaster,” stated Chiyaan Vikram.

Later, speaking about Thanjavur Brihadeeswara temple, Vikram stated that a six kilometre ramp had to be built to bring a stone weighing several tonnes to place over the tower without the use of any cranes or plaster. He added that the temple withstood six earthquakes.

"This happened in the 9th Century when our marine power reached Bali and Malaysia while America was not even discovered by Colombus, until 500 years later. Think about our culture. We need to be proud of it. There’s nothing called North India or South India. We are Indians and we need to feel proud about that," stated Vikram.

"England was being invaded by Vikings and Europe was in the dark ages. So, don’t you think we should celebrate (our) history?," said Vikram.

The film, directed by Mani Ratnam, will hit the theatres on September 30.
