After Centre's ban, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra govts declare PFI 'unlawful association'

Kochi, Spetember 29: In a major development, the state governments of Kerala and Tamil Nadu have issued notifications declaring the Popular Front of India and its associates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association.
 The move comes a day after the Union Home Ministry imposed a ban on the Popular Front of India for "terror links"."

Meanwhile the order issued by the Tamil Nadu government dated September 28, it read, "The Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that all the powers which are exercisable by the Government of Tamil Nadu under sections 7 and 8 of the said Act in relation to the aforesaid unlawful association, namely "Popular Front of India (PEI) and its associates or affiliates or fronts ."
 
 
 
What dose it means?
 
Offices of PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts will be sealed in the above-mentioned States, and their bank accounts will be frozen. Notably, there are 140 offices of the radical outfit in Kerala alone, with most offices having no name boards.
 
Under the state government's order, anyone found associated with the banned organisations can be arrested on terror charges. This also includes circulating social media posts favouring the organisation
 
 
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had made the announcement through a notification issued late on Tuesday night, declaring "the PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association with immediate effect".
 
Along with PFI, the ban is also imposed on its fronts including Rehab India Foundation (RIF). Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women's Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala as an "unlawful association".
