Episode 31. 75 Legendary women of India - Ritu Karidhal

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NewsBharati has come up with an initiative to celebrate India's Independence. We have tried to attempt to introduce 75 Legendary Women of India who have made immense contributions in their respective fields.

Since India's first rocket launch, the "face of India’s space programme has always been a man". But things changed after the successful launch of the Mars Orbiter Mission, or Mangalyaan Mission.

 

Ritu Karidhal, known as "The Rocket Woman of India," was the Deputy Operations Director of the mission that led ISRO straight to Mars.

 

She was also the Mission Director of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. Awarded the ISRO Young Scientist Award in 2007 and had featured in the Forbes India Self-Made Women 2020 list.
