Azamgarh, Jan 20: The incident of supplying cannabis to undertrial prisoners has come to light in the Mandal District Jail of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The inmates of the jail were supplied cannabis at the asking price, according to their demand.

In this case, 4 women in the district have now been caught by the police. Criminal women used to supply cannabis to the prisoners on the pretext of meeting them under the guise of a burqa.
 
 
 
The women told the police that due to meeting in the jail, they used to demand cannabis. Thereafter, the women would go from outside to deliver the drugs to those prisoners by hiding them in their clothes. This time also the women reached Mandal District Jail to supply cannabis, but the local police remained alert to the news received by the police. When these women were looked at with suspicion and thoroughly investigated, the police found that they had hidden cannabis in their burqas and clothes. At the same time, a consignment of cannabis above 4 kg was recovered from these four women. Women named Shabana, Shabnam, Shahnaz and Madina have been arrested by the police. Along with this, the jailed prisoners Armaan and Ismail have also been made criminals in this case. A case has been registered against the criminals under the IPC section and NDPS Act. Disclosing this, SP City Azamgarh Shailendra Lal said, 4 women have been arrested from outside the district jail and 4 kg of cannabis has been seized from them.
 
 
The police found the activity of 4 women suspicious, then the women constables were called and they got the women searched. It has come to notice that the woman had brought 4 kg of cannabis. She was going to supply Armaan and Ismail inside the jail. Further action is being taken against these four women.
