The spokesperson for Pakistan's Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, expressed concern over what she described as ‘baseless’ case involving Pakistan sports presenter, Zainab Abbas.

Zainab, who was fulfilling the role of a presenter for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, left India on Monday following a formal complaint filed by Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal, who accused her of making “anti-Hindu” comments on social media in the past.

Later, in a statement issued by the ICC, it was stated that Zainab Abbas had left India on the advice of the broadcasters and her media manager for security reasons.

“Zainab is being dragged into a baseless case. Making a case against her on tweets is not the right thing to do,” Baloch said.

Furthermore, the Foreign Office spokesperson is actively engaged with Indian authorities to facilitate the issuance of visas for Pakistani journalists and fans intending to attend the World Cup “Spokesperson is in touch with India to issue visas to Pakistani journalists and fans visas,” she concluded.
