General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huneed Technologies to build a flat panel array for GA-ASI's Lynx and Eagle-Eye Multi-mode Radar systems during a ceremony at ADEX (Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition).
The Lynx radar is utilized on numerous GA-ASI Unmanned Aircraft Systems models, including the MQ-9A Reaper and MQ-20 Avenger, while the Eagle-Eye radar is used on the MQ-1C GrayEagle Extended Range (ER) and 25M variants.
The flat panel array technology developed by Huneed will be integrated into a new common radar antenna subsystem for GA-ASI's radar products.
"Huneed is Korea's leading defense and aviation company, with a long track record of successfully establishing business relationships with a number of global OEMs in the aerospace industry," Jaime Walters, VP of International Strategic Development at GA-ASI, stated. as per official press release on its website of GA-ASI.
"Huneed possesses advanced processes and production capabilities to join our global supply chain, and we appreciate Huneed's long-term partnership."
Huneed Technologies has long been a GA-ASI partner. Huneed was contracted in 2022 to supply Circuit Card Assemblies for GA-ASI's unmanned aircraft line. Huneed signed its first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GA-ASI in 2017, and the MOU was renewed in 2021.
"Unmanned technology is critical for global security, protecting pilots while improving battlefield monitoring," said Huneed Chairman Eugene Kim.
