New Delhi, Feb 21: Congress leader and Gandhi family scion Rahul Gandhi announced that he would be delivering a lecture at 'Judge Business School' of the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, later this month.

"Delighted to welcome back Rahul Gandhi to Cambridge University later this month. He will lecture on @CambridgeMBA and hold closed-door sessions on Big Data and Democracy and India-China relations, with Shruti Kapila..." Cambridge said on Twitter. It should be noted that Shruthi Kapila is the same person who had urged Rahul Gandhi to have scripted interviews for high-impact messaging.

"Looking forward to visiting my alma mater Cambridge University and delivering a lecture at CambridgeJBS," Rahul Gandhi said on Twitter. "Happy to engage with some of the brightest minds in various domains, including geopolitics, international relations, big data and democracy," he also wrote.

Rahul Gandhi will hold close-door meetings about Indo-China relations. Reports suggest that the Open Society Foundation of the Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros is a member of the University of Cambridges's Guild of Benefactors since the year 2013. The foundation provides post-graduate scholarships in programs that represent a long-term response to the ongoing social and political transformations in the countries served.

Notably, Salil Shetty, Vice President of the Open Society Foundation, was also seen with Rahul Gandhi during Bharat Jodo Yatra. This lecture comes at a time when Soros has levelled accusations against India and PM Narendra Modi over Adani row. The Adani Group row is also being raised by the Congress and other opposition parties.

In the last week, Soros has accused PM Modi of being silent on the Adani crisis as he claims that latter has a good relationship with Indian businessman Gautam Adani.

"Modi is silent on the subject, but he will have to answer questions from foreign investors and in parliament," Soros said in a speech ahead of the Munich Security Conference. “This will significantly weaken Modi’s stranglehold on India’s federal government and open the door to push for much-needed institutional reforms. I may be naive, but I expect a democratic revival in India.”
