'Inflation Dayan has been made a DARLING for sitting in bedroom': Congress leader's sexist slurs on Smriti Irani

From calling President Murmu a 'Rashtrapatni' to using sexist slurs against politicians, Congress party's misogynistic leaders have always left no stone unturned to showcase how their party runs elections on the moto -Ladki Hu Lad Sakti Hu- respects women - be it the women within the party or Opposition.

This time adding his name to the list of misogynistic leaders, Srinivas BV, Youth Congress President, used crass sexist slurs to abuse Union Women and Child Development Minister and Amethi MP Smriti Irani by calling 'Inflation Dayan'.

As per the reports, he made his sexist comments while addressing the public. Targeting the Union Minister, he said, "Smriti Irani has got Mute & Deaf. This Dayan, Inflation Dayan has been made a DARLING for sitting in Bedroom."

This incident came to light after a video in which Srinivas is seen passing misogynistic remarks against the minister went viral on social media. This has remarks have drawn criticism from BJP.

Notably, this is not the first time that a Congress leader passed 'Sexist Remarks' against Union Minister Smriti Irani. In past, leaders from various opposition parties have passed crass comments against the minister.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Ajay Rai also used sexist words for Union minister Smriti Irani by saying that she visits her home city of Amethi solely to perform "latke-jhatke". Rai’s insulting remarks provoked a sharp response from the BJP.

Following this, UP Police then registered a case against Congress leader Ajay Rai. The case has been registered under sections 354(A) (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

Before that, Congress-ally Jaydeep Kawade of the People Republican Party had made misogynistic remarks against Union Minister at an election rally. "Smriti Irani sits next to Nitin Gadkari in the Parliament and says that they will change the Constitution. Let me tell you something about her. I have heard that the bindi gets bigger as she changes husbands" said Jaydeep Kawade.
