After the much-anticipated trailer of "The Kerala Story" was released, it has become a huge topic of discussion with several appreciating it while some, of course, criticizing it.

Amid this, a section on social media has been attacking the lead actress Adah Sharma for being in a "propaganda movie". Notably, the film is based on the true stories of Hindu and Christian girls in Kerala who were first trapped into love jihad by Islamists in Kerala and later sent to Iraq and Syria to become ISIS terrorists.

Days after online attack, Adah has come forward to defend her upcoming movie as she answered some questions from the netizens during an AMA session.

She headed to her Twitter handle and dropped a clip in which she shared her views on those who have been calling the upcoming film blatant 'propaganda'. "Our film is not anti any religion. But it certainly is an anti-terror organisation. Our film is about girls getting drugged, brainwashed, raped, human-trafficking, forcefully impregnated and then raped again, sometimes by multiple people. And the child they deliver is being taken away from them and then being made suicide bombers, she said.

Adah further noted, "So when you call it a political agenda or propaganda, that is just diverting the topic and trivializing this issue. Our film is about life and death. So I hope we can spread awareness to girls of all religions, sects, castes."

Moreover, Adah hoped that the film spreads awareness among girls of all religions about the issue. She also urged people who still feel that the film is propaganda to watch it as it will be released on May 5th. “I am sure after watching all the facts, people will change their minds,” Sharma said.
