Kalinga Right forum calls on Smriti Irani over Zivame data breach where private data of 1.5 Million Hindu girls leaked on the dark web

In the latest development in the Zivame data breach, Kalinga Rights Foruma has now written a letter to the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani about the incident in which personal details of 1.5 million Hindu users of an e-commerce retailer were sold on the Darkweb & Telegram channels.

It should be noted that last week, social media user Cyber Huntss, broke the news on social media saying the company has leaked data of Hindu girls customers to several Muslim dominant groups. He has also shared some screenshots of the data. As per the informationthe details include personal information such as name, email, phone number, as well as address of customers.
 
 
For unreserved, Zivame is an online retailer that sells women's clothing and intimate wear. It is founded by a woman named Richa Kar in 2011. Reliance Retail acquired a majority stake in Zivame in 2020.
 
 
 
Taking cognisance of the matter, the Legal Activism Group Operating Pan INDIA, Kalinga Rights Foruma, wrote a letter to the Central government and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights regarding this matter. In a letter, the organisation has asked govt and NCPCR to look into the matter and take 'Strict Actions' against the culprit.

Acting upon this, the government appointed Ashish Kumar, joint secretary, Cyber & Information Security Division to probe into the matter. As per the Kalinga Rights Foruma, the officer has started the investigation.
 
Meanwhile, Zivame has refused to comment on this issue
