Knowing that one misleading fact can cause a law and order situation in Manipur, the CPI(M) leader linked a Manipur sexual assault case with the RSS. Sharing a photo of RSS Swayamsevak, she claimed that they are accused of having paraded 2 women naked in Manipur.

While sharing their picture Ali did not bother blurring the minor’s face and captioned it as “They are the Manipur accused. Recognise them by their clothes”.

This tweet stirs controversy on social media. Many social media users started slamming him for spreading false narratives to malign the image of the RSS.

Over 919,000 views, more than 3,000 people shared, and 9,000 people liked the fake news posted by CPIM leader Subhashini Ali. Her propaganda not only defamed the two men but also put their lives at risk.

Taking cognisance of the matter the RSS has initiated action and filed a case of defamation and implicating a minor falsely under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Following the allegations, the BJP leader, Singh, wrote a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, demanding action against Ali and many others who have been sharing the misinformation. He stated that the minor in the picture with him is his son, Sacchidananda Singh.

Singh stated that the picture had been taken from his Facebook account and was false. The picture has been posted by a number of people in different groups and on Samagrasasamskarika Vedi. The individuals include Shankarkondaparthi, Nuhman Kannat, Ajees Muhammad, and many others from south India and other parts of the country.

After the backflashed she apologised for sharing fake news, however, she hasn't deleted her tweet yet. Ali shared an apology on Twitter, accepting that the information she shared was false. She wrote on Twitter, “This is incorrect. Sincere apologies”.
