Kerala TV actress, friend arrested for honey trapping ex-armyman

A Kerala TV actress and her friend have been arrested for allegedly honey trapping a 75-year-old ex-armyman and swindling Rs 11 lakh from him.

 

According to the police, Malayalam actress Nithya Sasi, a native of Pathanamthitta and her friend Binu, a native of Paravur, were arrested from Paravur in Kollam.

 

The 75-year-old victim is a Kerala University employee and lives in Pattom in Thiruvananthapuram. According to police, Sasi, who is also a lawyer, came in contact with the elderly man on May 24 via a phone call on the pretext of renting his house.

The police said Sasi befriended the victim through continuous phone calls and started visiting him often. “Later, during one of the visits, she threatened him to remove his clothes. Her friend Binu reached the spot as planned and clicked their intimate photos on his phone,” the police said. They added the duo threatened the victim to circulate the pictures via social media and demanded Rs 25 lakh.
