New Delhi, Aug 23: Pakistan on Tuesday summoned the Indian Charge d’Affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to register a strong protest over "the killing of a 60-year-old civilian".
Pakistan on Monday claimed that Ghias, a resident of Oli village of Kotli district, was killed in 'unprovoked firing' at the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nikial sector.
"Emphasizing the need for maintaining peace and tranquillity at the LoC, it was underscored that such acts are in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, reaffirmed in February 2021," the Pakistan Foreign Office said. The Indian side was urged to investigate the incident, it said.
However, the matter Pakistan has a problem is the Indian Army foiling an infiltration bid and gunning down two Pakistan-based terrorists near Line of Control in Balakote of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

While sneaking into India via LoC, the terrorists were intercepted by Indian troops in Balakote sector leading to a gunfight. Both the terrorists were injured in the firing and fled back to Pakistani side while taking advantage of inclement weather. They succumbed to injuries when they fled back to Pakistani side.
The security forces also recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including one AK 47, two magazines, 30 rounds, two hand grenades and Pakistan-origin medicine, Indian Army said in a statement.
